Looking for files…

AirDrop only works between Apple devices. fdrop gives Windows the same experience: open fdrop.cc on your PC and your iPhone, and anything you drop on one shows up on the other.

It works in Safari, Chrome and Edge, so there is nothing to install on either side. Files up to 1 GB each are fine, including full-resolution photos and 4K videos.

How it works

  1. 1

    Open fdrop.cc on both

Open the site on your iPhone and on your Windows PC while they are on the same Wi-Fi.

  2. 2

    Drop the file

On the iPhone tap the box and pick photos or files. On the PC, drag files onto the page.

  3. 3

    Download on the other device

The file appears under “On your network” on the other device. Tap Download. Done.

Questions

Can I AirDrop from iPhone to a Windows PC?

Apple’s AirDrop itself does not support Windows. fdrop does the same job through the browser: upload on the iPhone, and the file shows up on your PC on the same Wi-Fi within seconds.

Do I need to install anything on Windows?

No. fdrop runs in any modern browser such as Edge, Chrome or Firefox. You can also install it as a web app from the browser menu if you use it often.

Does it keep photo quality?

Yes. Files are sent as-is, so photos and videos keep their original resolution. iPhone photos may be converted from HEIC to JPG by iOS when you pick them, depending on your iPhone settings.

Is fdrop free?

Yes. There is no account, no app and no payment. Upload files up to 1 GB each and share them for as long as you choose, from 1 hour to 30 days.

How long are files kept?

2 hours by default. You can pick 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days or 30 days before uploading. After that the file is deleted automatically, and you can delete it earlier yourself.

Is it private?

Files travel over HTTPS, are stored encrypted at rest and get a random link that is not listed anywhere. Only devices on your own network see files in the “On your network” list, and you can turn that off per upload.
